The Spirit of Antichrist at Work... Producing an 'OBAMA-NATION'

It tears at my heart just a little more, every time I listen to, or read the words of one Barak Obama, as he persists in referring to himself as a "devout Christian" and furthers his campaign, not merely for the office of president, but as the champion of so called 'gay rights', same-sex marriages, abortion 'rights', etc.---when he continues propagating the lie that Jesus would be on his side, in those things.

What is so absolutely nauseating about this is the fact that his endeavors are only as effective as they are, because there are so many Christians who are so ignorant of the Word, they have become duped by the senator's fancy words and have unwittingly become soldiers in an army spawned in hell and empowered by the very spirit of antichrist. And no, I am not saying Obama is THE antichrist; but as the scripture says, even in the days of the early church, there were (and are) "many antichrists" in the world (1 John 2:18). But, as the number of those whose message is 'antichrist' in nature increases, the number of Christians who can, or are willing to, recognize agents of the same, is decreasing at an alarming speed.

So many Christians know just enough of the Word to make themselves vulnerable targets of the enemy---prey to the 'beasts of the field' (Ezekiel 34:5). Ezekiel, Chapter 34, along with Jeremiah, Chapter 23 and several others, too numerous to reference at this point; make clear the main reason for that vulnerability---that lack of knowledge, through which God's people are 'destroyed' (Hosea 4:6)... That reason is the failure of pastors (shepherds) to 'feed the flock'. And in spite of the fact that God's Word emphasizes over and over again the necessity of it, and our responsibility to be obedient and do it, we have become involved with everything BUT feeding the church with the uncompromising, infallible Word---thus producing mega-churches, full of thousands of weak, compromising, and VERY fallible Christians, who will believe the likes of Barak Obama, as he convinces them that his social agenda and the mission of Jesus Christ are one and the same. So guess where thousands of votes will be coming from?

How ironic it seems, that one of the leading (and largest) churches in the 'emerging church', 'seeker-friendly' movement, Rick Warren's Saddleback Church, provided one of Obama's biggest crowds to whom he could speak and present his ungodly, antichrist ideas concerning homosexual 'rights'. It makes me wonder just what 'purpose' is driving this 'purpose driven' church and others like it, who are all too 'tolerant' of Obama and his phony Christianity. [Read Obama's letter concerning this event]

Well, really now, Brother... Aren't you a little too 'intolerant'?... Would Jesus have that kind of attitude, just because someone presents 'the gospel' in different terms than you would?...

I'm glad you asked... Just what then, would be a godly, biblical response should the likes of Barak Obama desire to present his 'agenda' to my church?...

"As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed."
--Galatians 1:6

The apostle John put it even more clearly...

"Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;
for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
--2 John 9-11

I suppose I could write pages, defining "the doctrine of Christ"... But for the sake of brevity, let me just say, Jesus taught that His 'doctrine' simply means believing in Him (John 6:29, John 7:16-18)---not believing 'about' Him, but believing in Him for who He is... He was not just another good man who taught certain principles by which, to live. He was not one of many ways to God as Obama and his 'progressive, emerging church' crowd believes... He was (and is) the Way, the Truth, and the Life; and the ONLY way to the Father. 'Believing in Him' means forsaking all others. Only one can be 'Lord'.

Jesus Christ is Lord. And to suggest that salvation can possibly come through any other name is heresy---blasphemy. And such an idea or suggestion should not be welcome in any house, especially in the house of God.

As I have already pointed out, it breaks my heart to hear the comments of more and more of my Christian friends, relatives, etc., who are falling prey to the articulate-but-deadly rhetoric of Obama and other politicians who have found the ignorance of the church to be their means to power. And though I do not suggest that Obama is THE antichrist, I would submit that when that wicked one is ultimately revealed, he will be one who has taken his stand in God's Temple (2 Thessalonians 2:4)... But the 'Temple' is not a building, yet to be built some day in Jerusalem. It is the 'House' of God---His dwelling place. And just like Stephen (Acts 7:48-59), Paul (Acts 17:24), as well as other apostles and church leaders made the Devil mad and triggered intense persecution when they presented this fact in their preaching; so it will be in these last days as more and more preachers begin to realize that the 'Temple' in which THE Antichrist will present himself as 'God' is none other than the 'church of the Firstborn', the True House of God, Heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22,23)---the universal church of the Lord Jesus Christ. And due to the vast numbers of spiritually immature and scripturally unlearned members in this great and godly house, the stage will be set for the greatest, most tragic 'abomination' of history---the 'desolation' of the House of God.

Don't think it won't happen. The 'Day of the Lord' will not be a party day. And sadly, the church will not be ready for it. Thus the warning of the prophets... "Woe unto them who are at ease in Zion" when that day comes. There is nothing we can do about it. The prophets of old warned us... Jesus warned us (Matthew 24)... Paul and Peter, James and Jude warned us.... John, in the Book of Revelation warned us... And Eddie Hughes (along with a few others) are warning the saints today.

Even though we cannot stop what Jesus Himself said would happen in the last days---"evil men will grow worse and worse" and the great multitudes we see in heaven, through John's 'revelation'---those who will come out of 'great tribulation'---will not arrive there via the rapture. There will be another, more widespread and less enjoyable means of travel to that final destination, summarized in Revelation 6:9... But I digress.

Victory in Jesus will surely be manifest, but that victory will be on an individual believer basis, instead of a church-wide basis, until that glorious moment when Jesus appears in all His glory.

The bottom line?... Get back to the Word. Go after wisdom---God's wisdom---and don't be deceived by the many deceivers out there, competing for your soul as well as your vote.

In Christ,
Eddie Hughes
