A Popular (end-time prophecy) Misconception Corrected

"And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn...
In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness"
--Zechariah 12:10, 13:1

Contrary to the erroneous teaching of many end-time prophecy teachers today, that prophecy does NOT refer to the second coming of Jesus. Sadly, many are misled into believing there will be people (specifically Jewish people) who will repent when they see Jesus coming in the clouds---when they 'look upon Him, who was pierced'. The Bible does not teach that. The Bible teaches only judgment awaits those who fail to receive Him as Lord prior to the rapture and the resurrection of the saints.

Zechariah's prophecy was fulfilled, according to the gospel of John, beginning when Jesus was actually hanging on the cross...

"For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, 'Not one of His bones shall be broken.' And again another Scripture says, 'They shall look on Him whom they pierced."
--John 19:36-37

"They shall look on Him whom they pierced" was clearly 'fulfilled' as Jesus was crucified. It refers to that which took place at Calvary 2000 years ago, NOT to that which will take place when Jesus comes again 'to judge the quick and the dead'.

Secondly, The other related part of Zechariah's prophecy that many wish to reserve for the last days is... "In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness" (Ch. 13, Vs 1). This prediction corresponds to the 'New Covenant' prophecy of Jeremiah 31 and Ezekiel 36...
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses." --Ezekiel 36:26-29
Again, this is not a prophecy to be fulfilled in the last days, when Jesus comes again. There will be no 'fountain' of mercy opened up for the forgiveness and cleansing of anyone in those days of wrath. The 'fountain' was opened 2000 years ago, when once the crowd of Jews who cried, "Crucify Him!", began to 'look upon Him whom they pierced', be sorrowful and mourn. By the time the Spirit was poured out on the Day of Pentecost, the 'fountain' was fully open and that same crowd, along with thousands of others, were ready, at the preaching of Peter and the other apostles, as well as Philip, Steven, etc., to fully open their hearts and receive Jesus Christ as Lord.

Please don't be misled into believing that there may be yet another chance to be saved when Jesus comes again... Sadly enough, there are many 'end-time prophecy' teachers that would thus mislead you (especially if you happen to be of Jewish descent). But I can promise you, based on the Word of God, there will be no such opportunity... TODAY is the day of salvation... RIGHT NOW is the only acceptable time to give your heart to Jesus.
