FINALLY! Hagee Catching the Flack Over Recent Absurd and Heretical Statements!
I'm so often tempted to think I must be the only preacher on the planet who sees things the way I do. But that can be dangerous in more ways than one. It could lead to self isolation, bitterness, arrogance, and a host of other things I just would not want to be.
I've been speaking out about what I consider to be the most damaging false doctrine ever to become popular in the church for some time now, and having a very difficult time finding anyone who agrees. I'm referring mainly to popular end-time prophecy teaching which is centered around the idea that modern Judaism and its children (those who are called Jews) have preeminence and divine blessing from God---even above Christianity and the the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
There is such a vital connection between understanding biblical end-time prophecy and the true identity of the main characters in the whole prophetic scheme. In other words, if prophecy concerns primarily the saints of God who live out the 'Day of the Lord'---those who 'endure till the end'---and if those saints are related to, or possibly synonymous with the church of Jesus Christ, or the Israel of God, the elect, etc.... Then certainly, we cannot come to any significant clue of what lies ahead unless we know exactly who those people are.
It has long been my contention that we should not separate what the Bible clearly links together, in particular the identity of this last days church. Hebrews chapter 12, verse 22 and following, for example, absolutely equate the Old Testament congregation (church) with the NT, referring to it as 'Mount Zion', the 'Holy City', 'Heavenly Jerusalem', etc., as well as 'the General Assembly and CHURCH of the Firstborn'.
For as long as I've been teaching on this (over 25 years), John Hagee, for an even longer period of time, has endeavored to claim absolutely no link between God's Covenant, Chosen people of old and the saints and disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, keeping with the foundational, albeit erroneous tradition of dispensational theology. But it is the church, the saints of God, who is consistently warned in both Old and New Testament prophecy of the extreme dangers of the "Day of the Lord" and the 'Great Tribulation', prior to the outpouring of God's wrath which clearly DOES NOT HAPPEN until the latter days of the Tribulation. And one cannot teach the false 'peace and safety' doctrine or the pre-Tribulation rapture theory, unless he can convince his followers that Israel of prophecy is a completely separate people---a people who are not born again, thus, they miss the rapture but somehow have a second chance to repent and become the "saints" mentioned throughout Revelation.
Now that Hagee has gone over the edge, messing with not only the identity of Israel and the church, but with Jesus Christ Himself (saying He was not the Messiah), many well-known and respected ministries (as evidenced by the flood of new Internet messages, blogs, etc.,) have all but completely disfellowshipped him. He's really catching the flack.
Maybe... Just maybe...those same ministries, as well as Truth-hungry Christians all over America will begin to find their way back to the Word.
May the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ begin to work within the church once again, bringing us all back to the full knowledge of the Lordship (and Messiahship) of Jesus, and open our eyes to the treasure found therein.
I'm beginning to feel not quite so alone. Glory to God!

A big "Amen!" An unusual article on engines like Google entitled "Roots of (Warlike) Christian Zionism" backs up what you are saying. Thanks for your much needed blog. Blessings, Irv
This is so very interesting, I will return to view more.
This was very interesting to read. I've had a gut feeling about John Hagee for quite a while.
Thanks for writing that.
