John Hagee's Latest Heresy Goes Way too Far

There was a reason Jesus rejoiced so, in spirit, at Peter's response to His question, "Who do you say that I am?". Certainly no one was more 'Jewish' than Peter and it stands to reason that he was representative of the whole of Israel when he said, "Thou art the Christ (Israel's Messiah), the Son of the living God". Jesus confirmed the absolute truth of that answer when He revealed the source of that revelation as being the Father Himself.
John Hagee's claim that Jesus was NOT the Messiah and never claimed to be the Messiah is absolutely absurd. Actually it's blasphemy to deny the true identity of Jesus. The message is clear in 1 John 2:22, "Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son."
You may say, 'well surely, John Hagee would not say Jesus is not the Christ', and you would be right. But to teach the heresy that Jesus is only the Christ (or the Messiah) for the Gentiles but not for the Jews is still messing with the basic Biblical doctrine---that "rock" upon which the church is being built---the revealed knowledge of 'Who Christ is'.
I fear for the number of those who have been led by Hagee's teaching to believe their Jewish heritage keeps them in covenant with God... I shudder to think how many will spend eternity in hell because Hagee has used his reputation and notoriety to convince thousands of Christians to avoid preaching the gospel to the Jews, saying they (the Jews) have their own covenant with God and we should not interfere with God's plan of salvation for them. Never-mind the fact that the 'covenant' the Jews had (through Moses) is "obsolete" (Hebrews 8:13), and the only 'plan of salvation' God has for those who call themselves Jews is the same as it is for any other sinner---righteousness which comes by faith alone in Jesus Christ, who is the way, the Truth, the Life, and no one (Jew or Gentile) comes to the Father except through Him.
Israel's Messiah has come---2000 years ago---and the remnant Isaiah spoke of (Romans 9:27), which comprises ALL of true Israel, has already been saved, just as Paul said they would be (Romans 11:26,27). That salvation was completed in that generation, when, as it is written, 'the Deliverer came out of Zion' and took away their sins.
Indeed, Israel's Messiah has come. He is coming again, but not to save... He's coming to judge. He's coming to 'strike the nations' (ALL the nations), to 'rule' (dash to pieces') with the rod of iron, and 'tread the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God'.
John Hagee and his huge following have totally missed the mark and are lost in the wilderness of gross error. I for one have decided to break my silence about this nonsense and exhort with all that is within me... Get back to the Word and quit neglecting our first love. Don't be ashamed of the gospel. It's still the power of God unto salvation, for EVERYONE who believes---the Jew first and also the Greek. (Romans 1:16).
